AIM co-signs joint industry statement for EU harmonised packaging labelling framework

AIM, the European Brands Association, co-signed today a joint industry statement with 59 other industry associations calling on the European Commission to create one single Circular Economy, not 27 separate ones, underpinned by an integrated Single Market.

In their joint letter, signatories highlighted the need to ensure the integrity of the Single Market as a precondition for free movement of packaging materials and packaged goods. In particular, they warned against the risks of proliferation of divergent national packaging requirements, including higher costs for industry, adverse effects on consumer prices, and the disruption of efficient distribution systems, such as the food and pharmaceutical sectors.
