Grocery purchase by European consumers
In 2012 EU consumers purchased food, drink, home and personal care brands in grocery channels for 640 bn €.
Since 2003 this figure has gone up by more than 90 bn €, showing the substantial contribution of the sector to European growth.
On this map AIM provides you with a breakdown of consumer spending on grocery brands in national markets, incl. in Switzerland, Norway and Russia, countries in which AIM is represented through national member associations. The total spending on consumer brands in the EU, Switzerland, Norway and Russia amounts to 821 bn €.
